Labor day 25 Oct

 yesterday I helped my dad at work with measurement and I got pocket money for helping my dad after we went home 

we were playing board games and we were playing volleyball with the beach ball then I went back home 

to have a shower after I had dinner then my uncle got ice cream  after we had ice cream 

we watched a movie which was  free guy after we watched the movie

I said goodnight and went to sleep for school . 

09:09:21 lockdown

 This Moring when I woke up made my bed then brushed my teeth I had breakfast 

when I was finished I got the device I was working on which was charging 

I carried on with my  work  until 2:00 at 2:00 I looked at other peoples blog 

but I was to lazy to comment.:) 

31/08/21 lock down

This morning I woke up and did my work until nine forty five.  Then I had my break until

 ten o clock .   I did Gonoodel dances, I carried on with my Sumdog and Olympic slides 

 for the rest of day . I did my Storyline Online  then I did my blog

 post about my day. : )

lock down 26/08/21

 This morning after I woke up and brushed my teeth then  I came and  set up the

device I was working on which was a laptop. After I set up  I did some of the work 

Mrs. Agnew gave me at 9:45 I had a break after I had my break I did my Olympic

slides with my friend Daniel  then I drew a  panda for my arts and crafts time

then I carried on doing my learning.

Aroha in my whanau

 

I love my aunty and uncle because they are very funny. We often have fun together because we love one another. I am so grateful that they took me and Nikita into their family. I often get secret treats!

When we are bored we go out to eat somewhere and have a play. On a Sunday though, we do the washing and shopping.

Sometimes on the weekends we get to watch movies and while we are watching we make jokes and laugh. We all love one another and enjoy spending time together.

My favourite proverb that describes family is: “blood is thicker than water” because when things get tough, family always sticks together.

Water Awareness

 We have been lucky enough to go to water awareness lessons for ten whole days. The whole

 school went and we learned a lot and had heaps of fun too. The first day of swimming I had to

 watch because I had not been well and I had to wait a couple of days.

 When I got to swim in the pool we used boards. So we put our hands on top of the boards and

 we kicked as hard as we could across to the other side. Then we had to to use our arms to go

 around while we had our heads under water. I was in lane five with Carlos and

Daniel.

We also learned how to float for a long time on our backs, in case we one day get into trouble on

water somewhere. At the end of our lessons we would get out of the pool and do a manu. That

means jumping into the water and making a very big splash.

After ten days because that is how long we were booked in for (from 8 of June to monday the 

21 of June) for I did the largest manu  and the water touched the roof. I am really pleased I 

pushed myself to join in with the others because I learned a lot about being safe in water. 

Table Tennis experience for Room 6

 Yesterday a man called Dinyar from table tennis New Zealand came to share his skills with us. 

Only Room 6 were chosen to play, although some Room 8's were allowed to join us. When he 

came, Dinyar  took a selfie and then told us to get a table tennis bat and a table tennis ball . 

Dinyar showed us how to hold the bat properly and do new tricks we didn't know how to do.

In the end we had a competition where we had to balance a ball on a  table tennis 

bat for the longest time. Two people from Room 6 won the competition.  

After that the bell rang, so we went back to class. It was fun and I hope he can come back again 

one day.

Revealing my feeling through Art

A few weeks ago I drew my self portrait. First, I did my face outline then I added my nose and eyes and ears.  I drew my eyelashes brown. Then I coloured my portrait using crayons in different colours.  I had fun drawing my face and my body.

For the background my class used wax crayons and blue dye and had to explain how we felt when we were bored, happy, sad or angry.

My favorite line was, " When I'm angry I say bad words". 

The angry line on the background of my portrait was straight and darker than the other lines.

My name is Andreaus and I am 9 years old, I go to saint patricks school, I am a year 5 in room 6. My culture is Samoan, My favourite subject is math, My favourite hobbies are soccer and playing sumdog and My favourite animal is a Peregrine Falcon. My goals are to be a very skilled soccer player and to play Rugby.

Chicks at Saint Patrick's

Last  Tuesday Jo came to our class and gave us the biggest

surprise. She let us keep  the eggs in our room. There

were eleven  altogether and after they hatched there were 

two girls and nine boys.

It felt weird when I felt their webbed feet - they were tough 

and strong. When they were a bit older one pecked at my 

finger but I did not feel anything painful.

Daniel took the chicks home for the weekend and he had to 

clean the brooder and make sure they had food and water.

Today when the chicks left with Jo again, I was sad.

The "word Fairies " visit Rm 6

 Yesterday Mrs Kearns and her friend Carol from the  Pakuranga Rotary  Club came to Rm 6 .

They have  been visiting St Patrick's  for 10 years. They gave all the Year 4's a brand new dictionary. Last year, 20,000 children in NZ, Tonga and Samoa  received a Dictionary. i feel special to have my own dictionary.

      

The Best Day of My Life

                                        The Best Day of my life.

Last term on the 9th August I celebrated my First Holy Communion with nineteen other children. We had it at our church at St Patrick’s.

Before the day we had lots of lessons with Father Andrew. They were on a Saturday afternoon in the church. After that we attended church. We did eight lessons and then Father said we were ready.

One day after school, aunty took me to Otahuhu to a big shop. We were going to look for something for me to wear. I saw heaps of good clothes that I could choose. Finally I found a black lavalava and a traditional Samoan shirt. I was so happy and excited to try them on. 

On Communion Day I woke up very early because I had one more lesson to go to. I got dressed and went to the church. All my friends were there and we were chatting and laughing together.

During the service I felt very special and I think it will be a day I remember forever. 

 

  

  

My Whakapapa Story. By Andreaus

My Whakapapa Story My name is Andreaus and I am Samoan and I am writing about my whakapapa. My dad is silly and funny sometimes. My mum is always happy and sometimes gets mad. When I try to cheer her up she hugs me. My mum stays at home looking after my brothers and my sister. On top of my picture is a blue line that's my two grandmas who have died. The three green korus are my mum and my dad and my sister Nikita. I am next followed by my little siblings. I drew my red heart to represent the people who have died in my family. RIP .
